Description

Well-known British recording artiste Dickie Valentine arrived in Nairobi today for a tour of Kenya-based British Army units. Valentine, who stars in the talent-packed revue “Make It Tonight,” has gained fame in the UK and on the Continent as a singer of romantic ballads, with many of his records topping the best-sellers’ lists. During the week, the show will feature comedy by Don Smoothey and Tom Layton and musical performances by Hal Chambers, Reg Bull, Audrey Mann and Valmai Johnston. Performances are scheduled at Gilgil, RAF Eastleigh, Templer Barracks and Buller Camp, including cabaret shows and entertainment for patients of the British Military Hospital. The final performance will be held next Monday at the Sergeants’ Mess, EA Command Headquarters.
