Description

October 26, 1977: The Kenya Court of Appeal came into being with the swearing-in of two High Court Judges by President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. Mr. Justice Samuel William Wako Wambuzi (holding the bible) and Mr. Justice Eric John Ewan Law (Left) are sworn in a ceremony at State House Nairobi. Congratulating the two on their new appointments, Mzee Kenyatta appealed to the judiciary to reduce the remand period in criminal cases and delays in hearing and final determination of civil cases. Vice-President Daniel arap Moi (right) and Attorney General Charles Njonjo (Not in the photo) and Deputy Public Prosecutor James Boro Karugu(centre) witnessed the ceremony.
