November 5, 1974: President Jomo Kenyatta is installed as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Kenya for a third term at a colourful ceremony at Uhuru Park, Nairobi. President Kenyatta promised to serve Kenya without fear or favour, to foster justice and preserve democratic government for the benefit of the people. Here, President Jomo Kenyatta takes the oath of office, watched by Chief Justice Sir James Wicks (left) and the Registrar of the High Court Mr. Vijay Kapila on November 5, 1974.
