Against Sacco Act Amendment: Uasin Gishu County Governor, Jackson Mandago accompanied by Senior Deputy Commissioner for Cooperatives, Geoffrey Nyang’ombe during a meeting with officials of over 300 Saccos in the county held at the county’s hall in Eldoret town on June 12, 2018. Mandago said they are against saying the amendment of Sacco Law which is currently in parliament saying it puts at risk Sacco’s assets because it gives a chance for veto members who may join the Saccos by pumping in huge sums of money and in the long run take over the running of Cooperative, adding that they are bound to collapse due to arm twisting by the veto members.
