Description

Transport Minister Chirau Ali Mwakwere reads out a clause in a report during a press conference in his office at Transcom House in Nairobi, 22nd July 2009. The Government plans to introduce a Smart Card to phase out the current driving licenses that are in use across the country. The smart card will have all the holder’s information (including electronic information), and police can get access to it at the touch of a button; even while on the road! The new licenses are expected to be in use in January next year.
