Description

Professor Tom Ojienda counsel for a Nakuru voter, John Kipkoech Kip Ng’eno Koech briefing Journalists at his offices in Nakuru on June 14, 2013 on court developments after the petitioner went to High Court in Nakuru seeking to have the declaration by the County Assembly of Nakuru committee on appointments made null and void on the basis that it acted in disregard of the rule of administrative justice. The committee had on May 28 rejected six nominees to the County Executive Committee and the County Public Service Board. Pro Ojienda explained that Governor Kinuthia Mbugua now has the option of nominating the same people to undergo fresh vetting while the vetting committee will have to undergo an acid test on whether they meet the vetting threshold after the petitioner sought to have them supply their curriculum vitae, VAT and HELB declarations as well as copies of good conduct. The case will come up for hearing inter parties in two weeks.
