Description

Roads Assistant Minister Lee Kinyanjui (left), accompanied by engineers, tours the just commissioned footbridge near Mburu Gichua roundabout at the Nakuru–Eldoret highway on March 7, 2012. According to Rift Valley Provincial Traffic Enforcement Officer Mary Omari, last year a total of 274 pedestrians lost their lives while more than 300 were injured, while this year so far 22 others have been killed, all attributed to crossing roads in undesignated areas, especially among school-going children.
