Description

May 7, 2003: A land Reform Commission Chaired by Former Attorney-General Charles Njonjo releases their report that recommends that title deeds for all grabbed land should be cancelled. Among a raft of proposals in the Commission’s report released is for the constitution
to be amended in order to recognise only title deeds of land that was acquired legally. The report, which condemns the Ministry of Lands as “rotten and dead”, wants it overhauled and replaced with a Kenya National Land Authority along the lines of the Kenya Revenue Authority. Here, Lands Minister Mr. Amos Muhinga Kimunya (Left)with the report. Looking on is his Assistant Minister Orwa Ojode.
