Description

August 2, 1991: Kenya’s first Vice-President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga (left) is described as senile, politically bankrupt and desperate by three leaders who condemned him and three others for forming a new alliance. The leaders were reacting to the formation on Friday of the Forum for the Restoration of Democracy (FORD) in Kenya by Mr. Odinga and former legislators Martin Shikuku(right), Masinde Muliro (center) and George Nthenge together with Mr. Philip Gachoka and Mr. Ahmed Salim Bamahriz. The Trans Nzoia District Kanu chairman, Mr. Wafula Wabuge, urged the Government to detain the three. Other leaders who condemned the new alliance are Assistant Minister Reuben Chesire and Mombasa Kanu Branch chairman Shariff Nassir.
