Description

National Treasury and Planning Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani (right), Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa (centre), and Council of Governors Chair Martin Wambora address journalists at the Treasury Building in Nairobi on February 3, 2021. Yatani said some counties were holding large sums at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), preventing money from flowing into the economy while pressuring the ministry to release additional funds. He said the ministry had concluded the disbursement of equitable share revenues to counties up to November and would prioritise counties that had already utilised the funds they had received when releasing the December and January allocations.
