Description

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto addresses residents at Uhuru Gardens in Kericho Town during a fundraising event for local artistes. Ruto said he would not be intimidated by threats from the United Republican Party (URP) that it would eject him from the party, adding that he would continue serving as governor regardless. He also dismissed claims that some of the 47 governors had abandoned the push for increased county funding. Ruto emphasized that the Pesa Mashinani initiative was separate from the CORD-led Okoa Kenya referendum campaign, although both had a democratic right to pursue their respective agendas. Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony also attended the event. April 11, 2015.
