Description

Mass grave: Unidentified men carry bodies from a police lorry into mass grave at the Kiplombe public cemetery in Eldoret where government medical authorities attempted to bury 37 bodies among them, 33 bodies believed to be those from the burnt Kenya Assembles of God Church, Kiambaa, on January 7, 2009. Relatives of the post-election violence victims got wind of the move to secretly inter the bodies and stormed the venue stopping the exercise. Uasin Gishu District Commissioner Leonard Ngaluma intervened later, and the bodies were returned to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.
