The founder and director of the Kenya Foreign Residents Campaign for Peace (KFRCP), Peter Mathiang Mayom (second right), spoke at a press conference on January 30, 2013, regarding concerns on the current violent trends emerging as Kenya counts down to the general elections. On behalf of the foreign community in the country, Mathiang stressed the importance of carrying out a peaceful election and said that if the country was to fall to violence, she would lose out on foreign students, diplomats, missionaries, and investors.
